How we build

Useful. Spanish-first. Honest.

Built for real needs

We don’t build apps in search of a problem. Every app we make starts with something people already do every week — like sending money home — and simply makes it easier to do well.

Spanish-first design

Most apps treat Spanish as an afterthought: an English product with a translated menu. We design ours in Spanish from the very first screen, for people who live their lives in Spanish.

Honest and transparent

No gimmicks, no fine-print surprises, no pretending to be something we’re not. Our apps tell you clearly what they do, what they don’t do, and how they make money.

Remesas Hoy

If you send money to the Dominican Republic or Mexico, the rate you get depends on the service you choose — and the difference adds up. Remesas Hoy compares exchange rates and fees across money-transfer services and shows you who delivers the most pesos for your dollars today, with a daily rate notification so you can send on a good day. It’s a comparison tool, plain and simple: it never moves your money.

More apps in the works

Remesas Hoy is our first app, not our last. We’re working on more simple, Spanish-first utilities — practical tools for the real needs of everyday life. Check back soon, or write to us with an idea.

A small studio with a clear conviction

Helios Apps Labs was started in 2026 by an e-commerce entrepreneur who believes the more than 40 million Spanish speakers in the US deserve apps designed for them — not translated at them.
